We have experience in providing independent 3rd party construction inspection and material testing services on projects of varying complexity and size. Our current and completed projects include Casinos, Schools & Universities, Medical, Goverment & Muncipal Projects, Transportation/Infrastructure Projects and many others.
Craig Testing Laboratories has forty (40) staff with three (3) professional engineers, four (4) project managers, five (5) administrative staff and twenty eight (28) certified technicians who are regularly engaged in quality control inspection and material testing for various types of projects. Our inspectors are trained and also certified as required by the American Concrete Institute (ACI), American Welding Society (AWS) and American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT). Our professional engineers are licensed in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and four other states. Our soil and asphalt laboratories are nationally certified by the AASHTO Materials Reference Laboratory (AMRL) and our concrete laboratory is nationally certified by the Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL). Our soil, asphalt and concrete laboratories are AASTHO Accredited Programs (AAP) which provides national recognition of the laboratory’s competency to perform specific tests on construction materials.
Our approach to independent 3rd party construction inspection and material testing is to provide a value added service to the project so that the cost of the service adds to the overall quality of the constructed project. We do this by providing detailed oriented project managers and trained, licensed and experienced field inspectors. Our Project Manager reviews the project specifications and documents to ensure that all quality assurance (QA) items are being inspected and tested and they are proactive in finding and communicating problems to the construction manager so that any issues minimize any impact to the schedule. Our field inspectors are trained to perform inspections to the approved drawings and documents so that any deviation by the contractors is caught and can be properly corrected or approved by the project engineer. This approach results in a higher quality construction with less potential for structural issues after project completion.
The largest project that our company has completed to date is the Pennsylvania Convention Center Expansion project in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania which opened to the public in March 2011. This $786 million project consisted of the expansion of the existing convention center by 935,000 square feet. Our largest project to date that is due to be completed in June 2012 is the Revel Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. This $2.4 billion project consists of new construction of a 650,000 square feet resort/casino with one 53-story tower and a 7,700 space parking garage.
